The Merian Centre for Advanced Studies in the Maghreb (MECAM) has officially opened applications for its highly competitive Individual Fellowships 2026–2027, offering an eight-month residential research opportunity in Tunis from September 2026 to April 2027 under the guiding theme “Imagining Futures: Dealing with Disparity.” This prestigious program, supported by a consortium of leading German and Tunisian institutions, invites six postdoctoral and two advanced researchers in the humanities and social sciences to explore pressing issues of inequality, mobility, memory, justice, sustainability, cultural practice, and identity through one or more of MECAM’s five Interdisciplinary Research Fields, fostering transregional dialogue and collaboration between the Maghreb, Middle East, and Europe.
