CRPF Head Constable Critically Injured in Srinagar Self-Shooting Incident
Srinagar, August 10, 2025 – A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was critically injured on Sunday morning after allegedly shooting himself at the Yatra Transit Camp in Panthachowk, Srinagar. The incident has raised concerns about the mental health and well-being of security personnel stationed in high-stress environments.According to official sources, gunshots were heard from inside the camp, prompting an immediate response from police and other security personnel.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the individual, identified as a Head Constable from the C-62 Battalion and a resident of Basani, Lakhisarai district, Bihar, used his service rifle in the act.
